What is is an advertisement booking portal from smarterVENUES Ltd. The aim of the website is to give smaller businesses the chance to execute football stadium advertising like bigger firms, but in a more flexible way but with more control.

What is smarterVENUES Ltd?

smarterVENUES Ltd is a company contracted to 35 professional football clubs to provide and operate matchday advertising on the concourses at their stadia. You can find more about what we do here: This website ( is our effort at giving local advertisers a new way of buying their advertising space.

How do I book space?

How do I begin? enables smaller businesses to select and book individual, or groups of, poster and digital advertising sites at up to 35 different professional football stadia. Via the interactive map here, you can see what posters sites and TV screens we have for you to advertise on, along with how much it will cost and availability levels.

There’s no need to register or log in to have a look around, or even to buy, although you can create a log in to make purchasing easier & quicker next time if you like.

What can I buy to advertise on?

We have four main formats to choose from:

  • A3 washroom posters at 34 clubs
  • Large concourse posters (called ‘six sheets’) at 33 clubs
  • Main TV panel advertising on our FanTV systems at 11 clubs
  • Banner advertising on our FanTV systems at 9 clubs

What is your minimum order?

You can buy space from as little as £99, which would get you a two game trial on our FanTV banners at one club.

You seem to have loads of posters and screens, can I choose particular posters or screens to run my ad on?

Quite simply, yes you can. Although that said, all advertising booked to play on our FanTV screens is shown on every screen in the ground. But with the posters, if you see a poster site that you particularly want (perhaps it’s one in the family area, or one near your season ticket seat, or any other one)then let us know when you book your campaign and we will make sure your ad goes where you want it.

With the packs of 5 A3 washroom posters, if we do not hear from you as to exact locations you want them to be placed then we will spread them out around the ground. If you want them placed next to each other, away from each other or in particular toilet blocks then just give us a shout.

How do I pay for the advertising?

We operate a pre-payment system by credit or debit card. Only once we receive your payment will we be able to design your ad (if we are doing the design, that is) or schedule it for posting.

After your first completed order we can discuss the opening of an account should you so wish.

The advertising itself

What can I put on the posters/screens?

As long as it is legal, adheres to the ASA CAP guidelines and doesn’t conflict with any partnerships the club you are looking to advertise at, then whatever you like really.

Every single advert we run has to be approved by each club said advert is running at, and if for any reason an advertisement is not accepted we & the club can usually provide advice on how to address this.

Can you make my ad for me?

Yes, we have our own team of in-house designers who can make you ad to your brief. But don’t worry if you haven’t got a brief, just tell us what you want to get out of your campaign and we should be able to do the rest, usually by copy and pasting assets from your website.

We offer two levels of design work: ‘Free’ and ‘Pro’. Free, as the name suggest, is free and Pro costs £100. They are explained more on our Ad design page.

Can I design my own ad, or use an existing ad?

Yes, as long as they adhere to our specs here. We do not offer a discount if you supply your own ad.

It can be very difficult for us to make amendments to existing ad’s.

How far in advance do we have to get the ad sorted?

Obviously if we’re designing the ad for you then we’ll make sure everything goes to schedule. But the rule of thumb is to supply the finished ad at least a week in advance.

It’s not the end of the world though if you miss the deadline as we can simply start the ad one game later.

If you definitely 100% want to hit a particular game that starts within 7 days of you supplying your ad then we can usually accommodate if we move things around for you – just give us a shout on 020 7100 4545 or if you’re not sure.

How do I know my ad has run properly?

For posters we provide a photo of each posters once we have put it up. We guarantee no-photoshopping like some other media owners might do.

For digital campaigns we provide a playout report which has been generated to show exactly how many times your ad has played. If ever it plays less than we have sold then you get a refund. On top of this we give each advertisers a screenshot of the scheduling system we use to play the advertising on our screens, and we are also able to provide a video of the ad in action at some clubs (new feature rolling out across the 2018/2019 season). This video is a capture of the content we push to the screens so is exactly as one would see at the ground.
